It's haul out time! We scheduled our haul out back in January for the last week of March and kept our fingers crossed for sunshine. The weather gods decided we were worthy of such. We had nothing but sun for 8 days in a row! We were able to do our boat chores and get a tan at the same time. I also came up with a new workout, it's called the boat yard booty buster. It involves scaling a 20 ft ladder a bazillion times, squatting under the hull with a paint roller, and the Karate Kid wax on wax off was great for my arms.
This is the last time we will be hauled out prior to our big departure so it was kind of crucial. We (Jake) sanded the bottom, painted the bottom, waxed the hull, replaced the zincs, lubed the prop, replaced a ball valve on the head seacock, repaired a fiberglass issue on the keel, and put a fresh coat of paint on the head floor and walls. Whew! Sounds like a lot of work. We hauled out on Monday and were back in the water Friday. We slept well every night thanks to good friends Don & Trudy who let us stay in their basement for the week. Hannah was thrilled to have a bathtub. Katelyn flipped through all of the channels on the TV and was fixed on watching black & white westerns and I Love Lucy. All in all everything went well and we are happy to be floating again.
